Response to Call for papers / Time for RegistrationThe response to the Call for Papers exceeded all expectations. Over 260 abstracts have been submitted, mostly of extraordinarily high quality. Submission deadline was November 30, 2003. Although we made all efforts to increase the number of presentations at the conference, it was not possible to accept more than 128 papers for an oral presentation. The Q2004 Programme Committee in its meeting in December 2003 discussed the submissions intensively and selected the papers to be presented during the conference carefully. In this process, it was the most important objective to compose consistent and balanced sessions covering the topics mentioned in the "First Announcement and Call for papers". The current "Second Announcement and Time for Registration" gives an overall view, including the topics of the contributed sessions. A number of papers that the Programme Committee strongly wishes to be part of Q2004 can however not be presented orally for reasons of time and space restrictions. Those papers have been included in the conference programme as associated papers. Associated papers are integral part of the conference programme and appear in all conference publications (e. g. programme, abstract volume, website, proceedings), but will not be presented orally. Optionally, associated papers can in addition be presented in a poster session. Please note that in order to register at the regular registration fee, your registration has to be received by 15 March 2004. A registration form is available here.
